Dear Lactnetters,
The book, The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers, and Dr. Jack Newman's
Guide to Breastfeeding, is actually the same book, more or less. There is
something about books published in the US need a US publisher (maybe it's
even a law, who knows?). So HarperCollins Canada sold the US rights to
Prima Publishing in California, and they published it in the US. I really
don't understand any of it. Anyhow, there are some changes, but they are
minor. When I mentioned at a conference in Ohio this week, that one of the
changes was that the American edition had bigger type, some took this to
mean that Prima thought Americans have more trouble reading, but I don't
think so.
You often see in English language books something like "Not for sale in the
US for copyright reasons".
