Interesting statement, since on the one hand overfeeding and underfeeding
would both be good things to avoid, but "totally" having to "trust your body"
is seen as difficult. Truth is we who trust our bodies do not have to do so
in complete ignorance, we know what to look for, we know how to read the
signs, and we all know there are signs. Moms who bottlefeed need to know that
what they see coming out of the bottle might seem like a foolproof way  to
assess milk transfer, but with the increase in metabolic workload, and
spitting up, and lower usability of nutrients, it still does not give a clear
picture of exactly what the baby is getting. One the other hand, a happy,
efficiently nursing baby shows us very clearly how much they are getting, as
the breast softens, the diapers are filled, and the smiles grow, along with
the baby... Good strong signs that can be trusted more than arbitrary milk
ounces which have left a bottle... :)
