It is used to get baby onto the breast, for learning and comfort, but
limits intake because of the "need" to know exactly what baby ingests. As
I've said before, a good electronic scale would give an excellent idea of
intake and "dry" breastfeeding is just another bump in the road to
breastfeeding! Because colostrum and breastmilk can't be quantified
exactly as to amount and caloric intake, it is very suspect. (TIC)
Therefore we give formula, that can be quantified and let BF go down the
tubes! AAARRRGGGHHH as Jack says!
