Absolutely agree with you and I feel it is really important to examine the
role of this type of preparation (vitamin drops, otc nipple preparations,
colic remedies) in impacting on exclusive breastfeeding. My understanding
is that all of these things are ok in the WHO definition of exclusive bf,
but not in the definition agreed in the late 80's, and as detailed by Labbok
and Krasovic and reiterated in Miriam Labbok's article in Feb 2000 BF
Abstracts.
