I certainly don't have an answer for this as I am not a hospital based LC,
but my question would be to your nurse manager: "If I was an RN, IBCLC, what
would the pay scale be?" and secondly, "What would I be able to do
differently as an IBCLC in this hospital if I were an RN?" And if there is
no difference in job descriptions between an RN & a non-RN, then perhaps they
need to look at your pay scale in the light of what an RN IBCLC would be
making.
