Well, human variance and all that. Surely you know that these things
are in the ear and mind of the beholder and that there is no definite
'GReatness' without context (so much of which is personal, much of which
is not). Classical.Net's own Robert M. Stumpf II has a rather different
take of the concerti by Dutoit and Argerich, at:

   http://www.classical.net/music/recs/reviews/e/emi56798a.html

In both your concerti reviews, there was a tendency to rather definite
statements, in particular this, with the PC #1:

"These problems wouldn't seem very significant if Argerich gave a
special performance, but she gives an ordinary one. Unfortunately,
Argerich's first movement does not meet any high standards."

That's a very problematical statement. "...any high standards"? Or Don
Satz's personal standards (we all have this type).

I didn't comment on the first post and wasn't going to. Since you expanded
the statements in this #2 section, I thought I should, given the space you
alloted her performance and the overall negativity stated with such
finality.

But, we'll all disagree on things like this. For a large selection of
opinions, I've collected online reviews of this recording and link to them
at my Argerich recordings site:
