Based on all the letters about bathing from a few months ago, I chose
not to bathe my new baby in the hospital. I *loved* the smell of him
and just couldn't stop smelling him at every opportunity (a thousand
times an hour :). In fact today he is 24 days old and hasn't yet had a
bath, but I have used a damp cloth to wipe him bottom and neck when
necessary. He smells so sweet, I'm a little sad for what their father
and I missed out on with our first three. I also learned enough to be
able to 'defy' hospital policy and sleep with my baby, with the bed
sides up, and carry him in a sling and not push that plastic aquarium
around. Every time I ventured down the hall, I was stopped by oodles of
mums asking me about the sling, several were really impressed when they
noticed my baby was actually happily latched on as well :)
