I had a mom of a 6 week old baby call today. She is concerned about her
baby's stools. States she may get one yellow, seedy stool every 3-4 days,
otherwise, baby's stools are brownish, syrupy and not seedy. Baby is gaining
weight like a champ, but does get very gassy. She does produce alot of milk
and has pumped to see how much hindmilk is present. She pumps around 3-4
ounces and states she gets about 1/2 ounce of hindmilk. We talked about the
usual measures taken for foremilk-hindmilk imbalance, and she states she has
tried them all. What might be causing baby to have this stooling pattern?
