Totally agree with Jack's comments about "commands." Health care is a
collaborative effort between the HCP and the patient/client.
And with arthritis a collaboration between HCP and client is a big
necessity due to the nature of the disease.
There are alternatives to using the "newest" thing on the market for RA.
Hale's Clinical Therapy in Breastfeeding Patients, 1999 has a long
discussion on RA and meds used. It is a complicated disease and some
therapies work for one pt and some for another. It is a trial and error
attempt at finding what works and what doesn't for the individual patient.
In Hale 2000 he explains the probable dose of Celebrex for infant and says
"it is not likely this would be detrimental to an infant, but we do not
know this for sure." One possibility would be take doses and measure mom's
milk levels and baby's blood levels, and watch baby for side effects. One
of Celebrex's selling points is that it has few side effects. Sincerely,
