Carol L.,
From personal experience, I can tell you nursing twins with the SNS is not
on my list of easy things to do unless you can have help and perhaps another
set of hands. (I mean if she wants to nurse them at the same time. )
However, if she nurses each baby separately, it makes no difference if it is
for twins. Truthfully, I found it very cumbersome and annoying. Was easier
to stock up on syringes fill them all and use them in succession during the
feeding. I did however like the SNS when my husband finger fed them. I must
admit there were a few feedings I just could not deal with after sometimes 24
hours with only 2 hours of interrupted rest. You know, now that I have
personally used an SNS I can understand why some moms can't deal with it. I
hope this next baby coming does not feel the need to give me any more
"personal experiences" to learn from.
Warmly,
Pam MazzellaDiBosco, IBCLC
