I applaud this mom's dedication to breastfeeding. The docs are wrong. She
can certainly keep BF, using supplementer if needed. A blood glucose in the
high 30's in an asymptomatic infant is NORMAL and needs NO treatment. (See
ABM hypoglycemia protocol and WHO protocol.) I'm glad mom is going home!
Now she can BF baby without interference from physicians. Baby's
weight/growth/intake will need to be monitored to make sure it is adequate
because of breast reduction surgery, but that's not a problem. If supply is
less than baby needs, supplement with SNS can just be continued.
