The Museum of Natural Science, Louisiana State University, and the Louisiana
Division of Archaeology invite applications for the position of Southeastern
Regional Archaeologist.  Primary responsibilities are to conduct surveys,
test sites to determine NRHP eligibility, and nominate sites to the NRHP.
The  Regional Archaeology Program has strong public support, offers a great
deal of autonomy, and provides the opportunity to develop research interests
within the region.  The position does not involve fieldwork related to
Section 106.  M.A. required, Ph.D. preferred.  Experience in both historical
and prehistoric archaeology desirable.  Deadline is August, 1, 2000.  For
