American Academy of Pediatrics has a publication, Breastfeeding Health
Supervision (1999), which states 1st day: 1 wet diaper; 3rd day: 3-4
wet, 1-2 stools which are beginning to turn yellow; days 5-7: 6 wet,
pale yellow, and 3-4 yellow stools. A friend LC had to get this for one
of her docs who insisted on 8 wets on day 2. The Task Force on
Breastfeeding 1999-2000 which developed this had on it Dr.'s Gartner,
Lawrence and Neifert, among others. Our hospital is ordering it from
AAP.
I know it's more numbers, but it is a good reference for those who want
numbers. (I almost majored in math, so I like numbers.)
