This is indeed interesting. I'm curious about the outcome in 2002 when the
new research about the growth of breastfed babies is done.

What draws my eye is that while the research says that in developing
countries, babies may need solids earlier than in developed countires, (in
general) the voices to extend the recommendations to 6 months exclusively
are from the developing countries, while the voices to keep the
recommendations to 4-6 months exclusively breastfeeding, are from the EG
and developed countries (of course with exceptions on both sides).

De concern of the represants of the developing countries is hygiene, and
the confusing message that is send out to parents.

I find the list of participants interesting. Among the Dutch participants
there are at least 2 represants of formula producers. (Friesland Nurition
and Numico).
