I had to share this with you all. In the April 1 , 2000 edition of
Woman's Day Magazine on the next to last page their is a little Your
Child's Health Page. It is written by a doctor named Lorraine Stern.
Their is a small picture of a whole bunch of baby bottles and a caption
that says "Breastfeeding, When To Stop. ( Needless to say at this point
I am thinking don't read this) The little blip says what the AAP
reccommends and adds that you don't have to stop at one year. "The best
time to wean your baby is when she does so naturally, or you feel it's
time to stop." It also says the only problem will be "the people who
feel they were asked to serve on the committee to bring up your
child..." I have paraphrased most of this so as not to ignite a
copyright hoopla! I was so glad I forced myself to go ahead and read it!
This is a totally mainstream magazine! hooray! Go out and buy a copy and
send a happy letter!
