Don't you wonder why the circ is considered a benign procedure while
the much simpler frenotomy is considered "folish" or worse? Anyway,
there is usually someone assisting by holding the baby. I always
let baby suck on a gloved finger or knuckle as opposed to a pcaifier
if they needed calming during a circ. It was always interesting to
note that the more the procedure was affecting the boy, the stronger
and faster he would suck. It was as if he felt by sucking harder it
would go away! If I were having my boys now I would definitely opt
out on the circ.
