Tried searching over the last couple years archives, but only found
similar question, no answer.
Mom reports that sometimes (not always) when she pumps, there are
"lumps" or "strings" in the milk which are there immediately after
pumping. She has no evidence of plugged ducts. She reports that
when the lumps are there the milk has a "greasy" texture and the
baby does not like that milk.
Any ideas what might be going on? Her OB (who is very breastfeeding
friendly) stated that the only thing that he could think of to do
was to check mom's cholesterol levels in case that might be a
factor.
Winnie Mading, RNC, IBCLC - from Wisconsin where at least for today,
spring has arrived. Hubby still reluctant to remove "warning, icy
step" sign from front door though.
