Hello friends, this is a "generic" post to attempt to bring everyone up
to speed regarding Caitlin's open heart surgery.
Surgery went well, however, afterwards, she developed an effusion in her
left lower lung (some fluid). That was and is being taken care of by
diuretics (water pills).
Additionally, she suffered a stroke a couple of days after the surgery.
The MRI showed 3 areas of her brain that were affected. The most
obvious problem is left sided weakness. She is able to walk, but with
difficulty and an abnormal gait. Her upper body is less affected than
the lower. There are some language problems and she is printing mirror
images, which she hasn't ever done before. We begin PT/OT and speech
this Friday.
Due to circumstances, those of you I know from "lists", I am going to
continue to be NO MAIL for some time, but feel free to contact me
directly, if you wish.
Thank you to all for your thoughts and prayers,
Denny
