Are there different guidelines for the NICU baby when the mother has
mastitis? Everything I have been able to read and check on indicates
continue to breastfeed. Thanks for any insight, or for pointing me in the
right direction.

This is the same kind of nightmare we dealt w/ in the NICU at the hospital
where I worked. The problem was resolved when bf friendly neonatologists
stopped culturing the milk. Obviously, the same critters were still there,
but sometimes knowledge is not a good thing.
