There was an article in the Birmingham, Alabama News from September 23,1995,
about a mother who created skim milk for her premature son with chylothorax.
She went to the laboratory of University Hospital, and learned how to spin
her milk in a centrifuge and use an aspirator to remove the fat. She had
the milk analyzed and it was found to be nearly fat free. The dietitian
figured out how much medium chain triglycerides to add back to the milk so
that the baby would have enough fat. So, where there is a will, there is a
way. In the article, the LC's name was Connie Carlisle. I don't know if
this would be helpful to your case, but receiving breast milk in this case
was very possible.
