Re your mom w/ pain while nsg and hx of breast implants and possible
tuberous breasts. This is not clear cut. It seems fairly benign (not
entirely benign) to treat for yeast w/ all the anti yeast measures. With her
hx of chronic vag yeast this could be the culprit or a contributing cause to
her pain. If it is nerve injury or ducts not able to release milk, there is
no way you can reallly tell her if the pain will abate. She could try pain
medications, antidepressants meds (see archives for discussion of their use
w/ certain kinds of pain). She could try a nsg supplementer if her supply is
low and that may help the pain, becoz it often does when there is good milk
flow while the baby is nsg. Check out her pumping too to make sure she is
pumping correctly and with good pump. Of course make sure the basics of good
latch and positioning are covered first. And check the baby for oral anatomy
(tongue tie, palate etc). Good luck to this determined lady.
