At U of M one nursery became a place for parents to camp out if baby
stayed, with comfy couches, others became classrooms and offices. They had
one for newborn admissions or problems, but mostly babies are with moms.
Neat system and I agree with Heather that nurseries have got to go
before people stop using them!
I'm working on a talk for LLL of NJ. Breastfeeding Difficulties in the
Newborn - Jaundice, hypoglycemia and hypothermia in the newborn: Ways these
conditions may affect the initiation and duration of breastfeeding. I get
a whole hour :-( And I've come to realize that all of these problems
revolve around mother-baby separation. So I think I will concentrate on
that. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
