I would go a step farther. I don't think babies should be brought to the
mothers anytime. They should be together all the time...that solves the
problem. Then mother knows her baby's cues, and can strike (breastfeed)
while the iron is hot, as they say. Solves the problem of having to
document or whatever...... there is no reason to separate mothers and babies
when they will go home in a day or two and then have to face the 24 hour
/day challenges of motherhood.
