Could it not be that it is not an overactive letdown but the letdown as is? I
understand the baby took bottles or whatever for 5 weeks, so it would seem
possible to me that he forgot about the letdown and now fights it. Perhaps if
the mom starts with putting the baby at the breast after some pumping the baby
will accept the slower milkflow. Or she can take him off the breast as the milk
lets down and put him on again when the flow slows down. Just have him getting
used to it gradually again.
