Actually, women are at the greatest risk of becoming HIV+, young and older
women. The virus loves sperm and there is a higher concentration of the
virus in sperm. Women are at the greatest risk because the sperm/with virus
stays inside them longer increasing the risk of transmission. Older, post
menopausal women, are the other group at greatest risk, because they don't
think they need to use birth control.
I give young women this senerio frequently:
If you sleep with one man, who has had sex with five women, who have had sex
with one man, you have been exposed hundreds of times, even if you have sex
just once!
This is my standard HIV lecture.
<<<<<<Sending this message to the TV audiences only
reinforces the ignorance that is unfortunately pervasive in hospital settings
today.>>>>>>
No one has even mentioned Carols remark:
I think I am in love with the epidural man!!
This just drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!
