On the issue of toddler nursing being not beneficial for toddlers:
One of the many incredible things that I am learning in grad school is that
things like co-sleeping or toddler nursing have NOTHING to do with the
development of autonomy. It only shows her ignorance to even imply such a
thing. We know from cross cultural studies that autonomy is a function of
other issues, such a self-agency and reciprocity, the groundwork of which is
laid within every infant-maternal interaction from the moment of birth on.
