Yes, blood loss can affect milk supply. This is described in any of the
major texts on lactation. Not only does this occur at the level of
Sheehan's Syndrome (infarction of the pituitary due to shock of massive loss
of blood) but can occur at less extreme levels. I refer the person with the

associated with maternal postpartum hemorrhage, J Hum Lact 1995;
11(2):123-6.
