Hi all,
I searched archives, but cannot find exactly what I am looking for. Mom
has one week old baby. Nursing well on one side, other side has crack and
when I see her will check out why, etc. The problem is, the side with the
crack "stopped making milk" (mom's words). Other side is fine and baby is
nursing and doing well on that side, but what could cause one side to just
stop and how can she fix it? She says no surgeries, no injuries, etc. Milk
came in fine 3rd day, but not with the engorgement she had with first child.
This did not happen with first child. Easy completely natural birth. I have
not seen her yet but will probably travel to her this weekend. (She lives an
hour away, but is the friend of a friend.) I encouraged her to nurse on the
side that has plenty of milk because baby screams and fights at other side,
then to nurse on breast without the milk. Also, she has a P--I--S-- pump and
gets not even a drop after 15 min, but told her to go ahead and express for
stim if baby won't suckle. Would like to go to her with answers and
assurances the "good breast" won't quit on her, too. That is her main fear.
So, I come to these great minds with much knowledge and experience for
answers. Thank you. Please reply private as well as list because I am
digest and won't get them as fast. TIA (Thanks in Advance)
