Pat,
I have seen this many times, a clear, jelly- like substance comes from the
breast during a mastitis, sometimes in strings. Not unusual at all, and
won't hurt the baby. See the Breastfeeding Answer Book, page 422, when it
describes a plugged duct. It describes how the plug may come out looking
like a crystal, a grain of sand or a long thin strand of spaghetti
accompanied by mucus. It sounds like this is what this mom is seeing.
