I have had three calls this week from women nursing toddlers who have been
told to wean by their dentist because of dental caries. All of them just
happened to use the same dentist, and all were told that it was nursing
through the night that was causing the decay. One woman told me that the
dentist asked her, "Are you doing this for your child or for yourself?" I
would love to find a copy of the article that was mentioned several weeks
ago: Erickson, PR & Mazhari, E. (1999). Investigation of the role of human
breast milk in caries development. Pediatr Dent 21(2) 86-90
Does anyone have this article that would be willing to send me a copy? I am
happy to pay for postage and copying costs.
Thanks!
