Actually chicken pox, varicella, is one of the few that doesn't pass
immunity too well from mother to baby. >>
Do I ever concur! I had a wretched case of chicken as a youngster 2X. My
oldest son contracted chicken pox around 12 months of age and had about 6 - 8
pox total. How wonderful I thought - such a mild case. Should've held my
tongue. At age 6 he came down with one of the worst cases of chicken pox
I've seen - pox inside and outside - everywhere. One of those wild mutant
strains no doubt. Son number two had the same thing. The boys were sick
sequetially (of course) so we were essentially quaratined for a month - it
was awful. When daughter came along and the vaccine was available - she got
it. Figured we'd already paid our dues with 4 cases and only 3 kids!
Unfondly remembering,
