In our current hospital culture and in the greater community culture, I too
feel that bf can be salvaged sometimes with a nipple shield prior to hosp
discharge or else bf will be abandoned altogether. I am not just making this
up, the parents are telling me they are ready to give up bf and are ready
for the formula. Sad but true, and with all the greatest respect and
admiration for Dr. Jack. I don't like it, but I feel if more of the hcps in
the hosp and community were like Dr. Jack this would not be the case.
