Tricyclic antidepressents (amytriptiline, e.g.) have been used for migraine
headaches for many years. I have not heard of SSRI antidepressants being
used for this, but maybe. The drug sertraline (zoloft) however, should not
be a problem for breastfeeding. The doctor should get Hale's book and read
it. There are lots of other treatments too for migraine which are compatible
with breastfeeding (propranalol, Imitrex, Non steroidal antiinflammatory
drugs etc).
