I'm looking for help Re: nursing mother with bladder cancer. Here's the situation: Mother is nursing her 6 wk. old infant. Mother has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. She will have surgery next week to remove tumor in bladder. Then mother will have 6 weeks of BCG treatments (vaccine?), once per week directly administered into bladder. The mother wants to know if she can continue breastfeeding during the 6 wks of treatments, or if she can pump & dump her milk, then resume nursing after the treatments end. If so, how soon can she resume nursing baby? We could not find data on BCG vaccine , which is also used in treating TB. Is Tom Hale listening? I appreciate any help.
