How sad that this baby and mom have worked hard to get bf going and now at 4
mos, need to temporarily suspend bf for 3 days! Life is just not fair!
Maybe try spoon feeding, finger feeding, and maybe cup feeding again (not
all at once) wtih a different cup. If the baby is already taking some solids
(?cereal) this can be fed in a very thin "gruel" with lots of breastmilk per
sppoon. If parents would prefer to use bottle as alternate feeding device,
sometimes if a small "pretty" colored bottle is offered to baby as a "toy"
first for baby to hold and mouth and maybe taste a little something, this
will work if not "forced" but letting baby just naturally begin to mouth it.
Good luck. and make sure mother keeps up regualr effective milk expression
so she can go back to nsg asap.
