I agree with those who pointed out that artificial *baby* milk, not
artificial *breast milk*, is phrase we're talking about here.

You know from my previous post that I have used this "artificial"
term throughout my book and extensively elsewhere, so you know I like
this best. But I'd like to argue in the other direction for a moment.

In a way, "formula" may have a negative connotation, too. I'm not a
pharmacist, but it seems to me that prescriptive medications are made
from "formulas" hence we have the hospital "formulary." So you might
want to argue that a "formula" is a therapeutic concoction. I've
always thought that "formula" should be prescribed, and locked up in
the narcs cupboard so that over-intervention-type nurses can't get
their hands on it. Oh! I probably just opened a whole new can of
worms here...
