I fully agree, being a long term leader and a IBCLC myself. In working as a
LC I always fall back on the communication skills, the active listening I
learned as a LLLeader and the awareness that many mothers already know what
to do, just needing help to dig it up.
The extra part as a LC is the science, the theory, the pharmacy and in that
some things, the ones we encounter regularly, we have at the the top of our
head (or as we say it in Dutch: at the tip of our tongue), but the items we
don't see often we still have to look for the answers, for example on
LACTNET :-))
