Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic.
Serum levels in tetracycline exposed nursing infants are undetectable (less than
0.05 ug/mL) since the tetracycline and doxycycline would be bound to the calcium
in the mother's milk. Thus the THEORETICAL risk for staining teeth is remote.
The AAP considers tetracycline to be compatible with breastfeeding.
