Hi, Barbara.  Dr. Harvey Karp recommends the swing on high speed on the The
Happiest Baby on the Block video. The baby should be swaddled.  The noise
might also constitute the shushing that he recommends.  I've used this with
a baby whose mother was told that there was something wrong with her milk
because of her diet.  I swaddled the crying baby, who slept another hour in
the swing.  Many of the moms in my support group have also used it with
some success.  Hope this helps.
