I purchased a very old Singer sewing machine a while back, and today I was
going through the cabinet drawers and came across a small measuring tape
labeled "Enfalac." The sub-headline reads "breast-milk type formula product"
and underneath Enfalac it says "Infant Formula, Mead Johnson." On the back
it says "specify Deca-Vi-Sol, Poly-Vi-Sol, Tri-Vi-Sol Vitamin drops.

It's quite old and yellowed, and I don't think it was designed for sewing,
although that's clearly what the previous owner used it for. I suspect it
was for measuring newborns.

Just looking at the type design I'd say it dates from about the 50s, maybe
60s.

The most interesting part is the illustration - a naked woman sitting sort
of crossed-legged, nursing a baby, and where the baby's head is there's a
red square with a milk drop. This is across from the "breast-milk type
formula product" sentence.

BTW, my nine-year-old read it and said, "but they make it sound like
formula's just like breast milk, and that's not true!"
