Pat states: We don't give vits to formula fed babies in Atlantic City, just
to the breastfed ones :-) and I personally don't start them too soon. 40
years ago it was the other way around!

But vitamins are given to formula fed babies via the formula aren't they?
That's where the notion of breastmilk being "short" on some of them comes
from. As I understand it, when deciding how much of an ingredient to put in
formula, they look at how much is in breastmilk and then often put a little
more in formula to be sure baby is able to absorb enough. Then some idiot
looks at breastmilk, sees it has less than formula and declares that
breastmilk has an inadequate amount!
