A fast way to see some of the HIV and breastfeeding references is to go
to the all-AIDS search engine.  Do a search, typng in the word
"breastfeeding" and 190 abstracts appear.  Most are long enough to get
an idea of what the article reports.    www.aegis.com/search/index.html

Also, the latest statement about breastfeeding & HIV from UNAIDS
(November 1997) is available at

UNAIDS is the joint United Nations program on AIDS.  It replaced the
former World Health Organization's Global Programme on AIDS.  If anyone
