I agree. Veterinarians have better sense than we. Keep in mind that the
first 2 days of colostrum in the cat is roughly equivalent to the first
2 weeks of colostrum in humans. I quote directly from the label of a can
of KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement)(Manufactured and c by Pet-Ag, Inc,
Hampshire, Illinois) under Directions for Feeding: "All kittens should
receive their mother's milk for at least 2 days, if possible. The
colostrum milk gives extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some
diseases." There is a similar warning on the cans of Esbilac for
puppies.
