Barbara,
The 'deflated' area is large, about 15% of the breast.  I referred her to
a breast surgeon just in case, though I didn't feel any retraction and
the skin feels really loose, as in involution before the fat is replaced.
 I like your theory that compression and plugging would reduce drainage
and predispose to involution in the affected lobe.  It correlates exactly
with the experience of another lactnetter that I got privately.  I will
let you know if the plugged area involutes next.
