I want to thank everyone who gave me helpful suggestions regarding my
daughter's difficulty in being told she could not bring her nursing baby to her
older son's school function. In the end she did not send a letter as it
became unnecessary as she was given the ok to bring her baby. Below is a
synopsis of what occurred.

It was strange. She had communicated with the teacher via a message book
sent home with kids every day that she could not possibly leave her baby
and that her 6 yr old son would be devastated if she didn't come and the
teacher told her finally that it was ok to bring her baby. Sooo, the day of
the presentation/picnic, last Wed, I go with her, her husband, the baby and
there are other siblings everywhere! A couple of other babies, toddlers and
a handful of preschool children. Nothing ever said, teachers being nice
about meeting the little brother....No one said a word about it and my
daughter didn't feel like saying anything either. The whole thing was
ridiculous in the first place and she went thru so much unnecessary grief over it.
Sheesh! She may need to use the letter she wrote in the future for her
older son's functions, so a special thanks to Liz Brooks and Melissa Vance for
their advice regarding this.
