Here are my anecdotes:

My husband had had trouble with a virus in his eye. He would use
prescription anti-viral drops and they would work for a while, but then the
pain would come back and he would switch prescriptions. I am a lousy
pumper, but for the first 6wks of my 2nd child's life, I pumped about 4oz
every day, first thing in the morning. He would use it for periodic eye
washes and then just drink the rest. Not only did it permanently (well,
it's six years later) cure the virus, he also had no seasonal allergies that
spring. When said 6yo got pink eye last fall, I was no longer lactating and
had to hit up my friends for milk, and she was healthy again within about 48
hours. I was quite open with the school community about what those mystery
drops were, but only after the fact.
