Then how can it be that some findings are put into practice when the ink of the publication is still wet? Like when some research finding seemed to point in the direction of favoring introduction of solids before 6 months might be beneficial for children in a family with allergy history?

Research into use of evidence based practices show that it takes about 20 years for things to filter thru to nursing (as in RNs), so why do you think LCs are any different?  Yes, I would hope that we are, but unfortunately we're not :-(  Pat in SNJ
