Merilee, I agree wholeheartedly that there are some legitimate uses
for ABM just as there are for crutches for example.  Or insulin
perhaps-not something that everyone should use "just to get used to
it" or "just in case your pancreas isn't fully functional", but
available by prescription for those whose pancreases (sp?) don't
function normally.
Yes, moms who choose not to breastfeed (and their babies) deserve as
good a caregiver as those who do breastfeed.   (And of course, those
who are bottlefeeding for whatever reasons beyond their control.)
Perhaps exposure to a doc who so wholeheartedly endorses
breastfeeding might influence her future choices.
