Hi All...

Although a significant proportion of those mothers who had an IV whilst
in hospital may have had reasons to receive antibiotics, many will not
have had. Reasons for IV lines include induction or management of
pre-eclampsia, neither which is routinely associated with the use of
antibiotics. Prolonged rupture of membranes, maternal or foetal
distress, caesarian section are situations in which an IV line is more
likely to have been associated with antibiotics.
