Over the years I've noticed that the more mom focuses on the let-down, the
more problems she has. I did it to myself in 1966 when I found Karen
Pryor's book, read the chapter about let-down (which I didn't know
existed), focused on it and decided that I didn't have one! (Ha! He
gained 1 lb (500 g) per week for the first 6 weeks!)
I'd go with a visualization tape (sounds of running water?), relaxation
techniques, the herbs (for their normal effect on milk supply and placebo
effect), meds, a sugar pill for "let-down". "Older" primips tend to be
career women who are used to being in control. It's hard to step out and
blindly trust a milk supply! As an obsessed cross stitcher I understand
the principle when I try to do free form embroidery! I need a pattern!
Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
